Thunder Snow

by Xavier Vagus

The flexed embryo proboscis seed
clenches photons
swathed like cream in coffee soil

rainbow sprinkles speckle
blueberry scoops
of electric juice that squeeze through troughs of goo
and power into stacks that multiply
charged synthesis until they mushroom
and pound the stratosphere like popcorn rockets

cracks and wrinkles creek across
the baked sand face
daggers of lightning connect the drizzled icing

phosphorescent glows
in the snowfall
release miniature candies like
the digitized code of starfish podia

then relinquish force
and dissipate into the cake of hope
extinguishing unnoticed
rising again unannounced
driving a dart of surprised purity
flowing to bliss

until the crown bursts into oblivion
and leaves the afterimage of a heart
